This anti-HDV ELISA is based on solid phase, one step incubation competitive ELISA. Anti-HDV antibodies, if present in the sample, compete with polyclonal anti-HDV antibodies labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP), for a fixed amount of HDV antigens pre-coated in the wells. When no anti-HDV antibodies presents in the sample, the HRP labeled anti-HDV will be bound with the antigens and the unbound material is removed during washing.
