Unlike atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), CNP does not have direct natriuretic activity. This is because CNP is a selective agonist for the B-type natriuretic receptor (NPRB) whereas ANP and BNP are selective for NPRA.
