Intended use:This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat SDF-1a concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
Introduction:SDF-1 (stromal cell-derived factor-1) is small cytokine belonging to the chemokine family that is officially designated Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 12 (CXCL12).CXCL12a alters also the electrophysiology of neurons.
Test principle:The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to SDF-1a. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for SDF-1a. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm 2 nm. The concentration of SDF-1a in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
